A grant of R4 million was made to Business Trust for the Business against crime campaign. The Business Trust is a partnership between business and government to stimulate employment, build capacity and enhance trust. The Business Trust projects include school and technical college development, development of tourism initiatives, crime control and reduction as well as the reduction of malaria infection.

This initiative is well supported and besides government contribution, over 137 businesses participate in the partnership.

Eskom committed to the Business Trust as a grant maker from 2006 for a period of five years. For the period under review, an amount of R4 million was funded with a further R10,5 million committed until 2010.
